Music you'll walk to

One instrument can hold a whole ceremony. Here's how the cello fits into a wedding day — and how I make it yours.

The running order

Where the cello fits into your day

From the first guest arriving to the last car pulling away. Most couples pick two or three of these, not all eight — this is simply the whole day, so you can see the choices.

  1. As your guests arrive

Half an hour of quiet playing while people park, find a seat and start talking. It gives the room something to settle into instead of silence.

  2. Walking down the aisle

Your entrance, to the piece you chose. I learn it properly and I watch you rather than the music, so it lands when you do.

  3. The vows and the signing

Something soft underneath, so the pause while you sign doesn't turn into an awkward gap.

  4. Walking back out

Warm, bright and quick. It's the one moment of the day that should be joyful rather than pretty.

  5. Photos and the cocktail hour

While you're away with the photographer, your guests get film themes, standards and songs they recognise. It's what keeps that hour from feeling like waiting.

  6. Dinner

Quiet enough to talk over, close enough to notice. I play between courses and stop the moment the speeches start.

  7. The first dance

A live first dance is the part guests still talk about. One cello, your song, arranged so it works without a band behind it.

  8. The send-off

Something to leave on, while the last glasses are cleared and the cars come round.

Your music, not a set list

Any song can become a cello piece. The song from your first date, the one your mother loves, the theme from the film you watched on your third anniversary — if it can be sung, it can be played.

I arrange your choices for cello myself, and around them I draw from everything: Bach and Ave Maria, film scores, jazz standards, and covers of songs your guests will lean in and recognize.

The practical part

  • I travel — anywhere is fine. City and country are simply part of the booking.
  • Outdoor ceremonies welcome: garden, beach, forest, backyard.
  • Sound and setup are sorted during booking — you won't have to think about it on the day.
  • You get one clear plan before the day: what plays when, agreed in advance.

Yarik played the cello at our wedding, and it made the day feel even more special. His playing was beautiful, emotional, and created such a warm atmosphere during the ceremony. We are very grateful that he was part of such an important day for us. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and reliable cellist for a wedding or special event.

We had Yaroslav as well as his brothers play at our wedding. I could not recommend him enough if you’re looking for live music. He’s a true musician and his tasteful style of playing will add just the right amount of ambiance to your event without being over stimulating or overwhelming. Being the bride and a musician myself, I can say that it added to our day in a way that I still look back on! Yaroslav is very professional, well versed in his craft and has a very charming/charismatic personality. If you’re looking for live, beautiful instrumental music for your event, I would recommend Yaroslav without hesitation.

Yaroslav was incredible when we asked him to play a custom song for us at our wedding, and play through cocktail hour. We had people taking photos and recording him because he was so great. We couldn’t have asked for a better cello player! Thank you for adding a special touch to our big day. Chelsea & Raine
